Disaster- Proofing the Transport Sector in Vietnam

Floods and storms often isolate communities and disrupt trade flows. The Vietnamese government took some important steps to build resilience of the transport sector against risk from natural disasters and climate change with support from the GFDRR and the World Bank. By increasing resilience of rural roads and ensuring continued connectivity during floods, the government aims to protect vulnerable communities.
